The right lighting is important for concentrated work.
The good news is that optimal office lighting, functionality and design can be combined. The selection of the right office lights creates a pleasant atmosphere in which you feel comfortable, and which promotes productivity.

What is important when choosing office lighting

For optimal lighting conditions in the office, but also in the home office, the conditions on site must be taken into account. Ideally, there is daylight in the office, which is combined with the right lights. But even for offices without windows, suitable office lights offer pleasant lighting conditions. Well thought-out lighting design is crucial.

When choosing the right office lighting, pay attention to the following criteria:

  • Office lights must not dazzle.
  • Office lights must not produce reflections.
  • Use the appropriate radiant power (lumens) depending on the size of the room and ceiling height
  • The right colour temperature (Kelvin)

Here we describe how these criteria affect the selection of the right office lights. You can find the relevant data either on the product pages in our shop or on the respective product data sheet. If you have any questions about a product, we will of course be happy to help you and advise you individually.

Ergonomic office lighting

In the office, it is important to have office lighting that is as ergonomic as possible. This refers to lighting that contributes to the optimization of workflows. It is achieved through a mix of daylight as well as indirect and direct lighting. The selection of the right office lighting therefore depends on:

  • how much daylight there is in the office
  • which furniture is set up in the office (colour and surface finish)
  • how big the office is, and
  • whether they work in daylight or in the evening and at night

The right luminous flux and the right colour temperature for office lights

With optimal lighting, there shouldn't be much contrast between the screen and ambient light to avoid eye fatigue. When working with a PC and at a computer workstation, dim lighting is recommended.

For basic lighting in the office, we offer a wide selection of suitable models.
Choose your ceiling floodlight, floor lamp or ceiling lights accordingly as well as the appropriate bulbs. For larger offices, several office lights make sense.

Also pay attention to the correct colour temperature. In the dark, a bluish colour component is more helpful. Daylight white light can increase performance. Indirect light from ceiling lamps, on the other hand, should have a cold colour, while direct light from desk or floor lamps should have a warm colour.

For rooms with a low height, flat ceiling lights are beneficial. In addition, in rooms with low ceilings, we recommend lamps with a large exit angle so that the light can be ideally distributed over the largest possible area. Wall lights and floor lamps are a good addition to general lighting in rooms with low ceilings.

Advantages of LED lights for the office

LED lights are ideal for the workplace. They are energy-efficient and durable, thereby contributing to cost savings. Compared to conventional workplace lighting, LEDs can save energy costs. In addition, LED bulbs are particularly durable.

The so-called degradation, i.e. the decrease in luminosity, is very low with LEDs. LEDs deliver full luminosity immediately after switching on. They also offer the ideal colour temperature and light intensity for concentrated work. LED office lights are available in many different designs for every office interior.

Combination of office lights

When choosing the right office lamps, you can opt for ceiling lamps, desk lamps, ceiling floodlights or floor lamps. In many cases, the combination of these lights will bring the optimal result.

Floor lamps are not only suitable for illuminating a single workplace but can also set pleasant accents in addition to other light sources. If you are using a floor lamp for a single workstation, make sure that the lamp provides directional (direct) light.

It should be noted that the further away a light is from the workplace, the stronger the output (measured in lumens) of the light source should be.
For ceiling lights, this means that the higher the ceiling, the stronger the lighting required.
